OWP Hand Coloured and Embellished Prints

Through one of our publishing partners, Old World Prints and their Vision Studio in Richmond Virginia we are able offer you Hand Coloured and Hand Embellished prints.

When creating Hand Coloured prints, the artists of the Vision Studio apply colour in the same way that great artisans of the 16th to 19th century did. With the black and white image printed – one print at a time – each print is designed and coloured using the finest European watercolour paints and gouaches on 100% cotton archival fine art paper – a tree-free, sustainable source. Many Hand Coloured prints are then hand-embellished with crackle finishes, gold leaf, 24K gold pen, antique staining and washes, deckled edges and more. The Vision team can also Hand Embellish paper and canvas based art with a variety of finishes including deckle, crackle, metallic accents, metal leafing and staines and washes. Each piece created in this way is distinctive from the next and as they are either paper or canvas based and moisture resistant they don’t require glass when framed.
