Born in 1959 in Shanghai, China, Yehan Wang is a professional artist with international experience. In 1995, Yehan became a Canadian citizen and has since become an active member of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Federation of Canadian Artists in Vancouver, BC. For Yehan, art is a partnership between design and color. He uses these aspects to produce images where the process takes precedent. Nothing is more exhilarating than spreading paint over the canvas with large, expressive strokes. His work is a process of creation as well as investigation, which aims to express the nature of beauty and to reveal the discoveries he made during his exploration. Inspired by many influential artists, particularly Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, Yehan sees himself striving to achieve his own sense of expression combining an abstract, decorative style with contemporary influences. He works with layers of colors, thickened or scumbled over a textured surface.
