The Artist: Jeff Maihara

Jeff Maihara was born in North Vancouver and is of Japanese and Scottish descent. His mixed heritage has helped shape his unique viewpoint and the way he approaches his subject matter. He grew up amidst the mountains & ocean, drawing inspiration from nature. His true love is travel photography. Favorite places include Peru, Cambodia, Japan, and Australia. Jeff loves immersing himself in other cultures, and his goal is always to try and evoke the romance & adventure of the places he visits, forever capturing a moment in time. Jeff studied graphic design at Vancouver Community College & Capilano College. He has been working in the fine arts field for the past fifteen years. Currently, he creates images using digital media and has been experimenting with photography for the past few years. Jeff lives in Vancouver with his wife Lisa, their dog, and three cats.
