... born in 1970, he lives and works in Ireland. The Tectonic Landscape This artist’s palette is dominated by strong, powerful tones that are rich in contrast. He finds his motifs in the immediate surroundings of his studio: in the villages and on the farmsteads of Co. Wicklow. What is striking about O’Connor’s work is the way in which he succeeds in bringing something new to the everyday by exaggerating the perspective. Thus, the cow painted from a worm’s eye view appears in a completely altered dimension. Before becoming an artist, Eoin O’Connor was an architect. O’Connor’s tectonic drawing style, as influenced by architecture, is certainly significant in the composition of his pictures.
