…born in 1970, she lives and works in France. Silhouettes in Light Sophie Bonnet studied art at the Sorbonne in Paris and works as a free-lance artist. Her compositions hover between the figurative and the abstract. Her pictures are often dominated by a silhouette-like central figure, mysteriously blending into its surroundings. This central figure serves as a starting point for the spatial structure, marshalling the observer’s gaze. While using this type of structure, the artist bears the logical composition in mind, so that her pictures always retain a narrative dimension without entirely losing themselves in the abstract.
