Jettie Roseboom was born in 1945 in Gorredijk, the Netherlands. The artwork of Jettie Roseboom is very varied but at the same time uniquely hers. In all her work, the atmosphere she creates is the most significant thing to her. A specific subject, which can vary from landscapes and flowers to human characters, is frequently the reason to her paintings. The subject is then abstracted and is reflected in a balanced composition.The use of colours are very strong and are adapted to the atmosphere of the painting. Some paintings arise almost spontaneously and radiate this, others are interwoven and show to some extent her wrestling to create order from chaos. Jettie exhibits her work regularly and she has won many prizes and awards. Most of her work is in the hands of private collectors.
